Errol White and Bulajic were the only two returners to start the game.  Pennebaker is out with an injury and Hamilton is questionable.  Grambrell the freshman scoring guard out of Houston is also unavailable.

Lamar up by thirty at the half 53-23.  Beaumont native Holifield is leading all scorers with fifteen points including three three-pointers.  Marmolejos another newcomer has twelve points.  Only four turnovers in the first half.

Final score Lamar 113 - PQ 42.  This is the kind of win you hope for when playing a lower division school.  Defense played ok, but what was the caliber of the competition.  Everyone that was suited up played and all scored.  Lamar had six players in double figures, led by 20 from Holifield.  White had fourteen rebounds.  Cards had eight turnovers total for the night.

I like what I saw from Holifield. A stretch forward in the SLC at 6’10 is incredibly rare.

Think about the mismatches he can create if he draws the opponent’s biggest defender. He can open up the paint for Hamilton or our slashers (Marmelejos, Jackson, Pennebaker). Of course, he has to continue to shoot it well.

Between Hamilton, Holifield, White, Dixon and the freshman, East, this is the longest Lamar team I have ever seen.
