March 4, 20251 yr We love to bitch and moan about coaching, etc, but often don’t give props where it’s due. Lamar may have lost some games they should have won, but overall Brooks has done a very nice job with this program. They have improved every single year under his leadership. And he’s a guy that’s committed and loyal to the University. He didn’t do much right while he was here, but Marco made a very nice hire with Alvin Brooks.

Saturday night against McNeese was like a game back in the 80s or 90s. It starts with defense and this team defends. he finally has enough players keep fresh defenders on the floor at all times. Fans are starting to notice and, most importantly, care again! Thanks, Coach Brooks
March 4, 20251 yr Congrats on an impressive season! Lamar needs to play their best basketball in the tournament. McNeese is a Goliath in our league and will be virtually impossible to topple on their home floor. When does the tournament move out of Lake Charles??

March 4, 20251 yr I have noticed that the team is improving year after year under Brooks. That's a good sign but he started at a very low spot so he's only brought the team back to respectability. He still has a ways to go.

All we need to do is raise a half million or so a year for Cardinal hoops to match what McNeese is paying their players and he will have a much better chance to go from 2nd in conference to first…
