coachacola
He was a 2-star lineman out of high school who committed to UL-Monroe. Not sure if he ever played there. coachacola
From the Beaumont Enterprise: Tyler Junior College offensive lineman Brock Wempa has signed to play football for the Cardinals this fall, announced Lamar University head coach Ray Woodard on Friday. The 6-foot-2, 310-pound Wempa played the last two seasons at TJC after originally signing at Louisiana-Monroe coming out of Royse City (Texas) High School. Wempa helped the Apaches to a No. 18 final national ranking last season and a 7-4 record. "Brock is a big lineman with good feet who should come in and help us right away," said Woodard. During his sophomore campaign at TJC, the Apaches upset No. 1 ranked Blinn College 37-34 as they rushed for 352 yards on 62 carries. Wempa blocked for an offense that averaged nearly 400 yards per game, including 230 on the ground. Guest CardAmbassador
We've picked up two nice additions, both of which were in areas of need OL and catching (TE) A WR would still be a good addition to this team but if we don't sign one it wont be the end of the world. Guest CardAmbassador
Why is he signing so late? Don't know, but it doesn't have to be a bad thing. In fact, it could be that he held out too long thinking some FBS school would pick him up and passed over other offers but now he has been forced to sign with an FCS school. He did have an offer from Iowa St. out of HS. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Brock-Wempa-69854 He was also a starter on a pretty good offense at TJC: http://www.lamarcardinals.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/051112aaa.html
coachacola
His latest rivals profile showed that he had offers from Eastern Kentucky, Nicholls and Murray State. Guest bossman73
Brock Wempa did sign with Iowa State but coach chiz left and went to Auburn so Brock left and sign with louisiana monroe then he found out he didnt have the grade by the NCAA so he went to Tyler Jr College and yes he had offers from schools far from Texas but he said he wants to play CLOSER TO HOME and IN TEXAS! He is 6'3 315 lbs he ran at TJC a 4.85 40 benched 225 lbs 24 straight and is a VERY VERY GOOD LINEMAN!! Just to let you know the lineman drafted in the NFL did not come close to 4.85 and yes they benched 30 times 6 more than brock. He can't wait to hit the field
