Lamar goes on the road for its second conference game.  ET presents another unknown when it comes to the quality of their team.  Currently they are 1-4 with all of their losses in the non-conference.  The losses are all to teams with winning records and two of them are FBS top 20 teams.  They defeated Northwestern St on the road for their conference opener.  Game time is 6 PM Saturday.  I don't think there will be any easy games in conference this year.

This game and the Northwestern State game should be easy or we'll probably see LU end the season on a 3 or 4 game losing streak.

I say we stay with McCown at QB. I am hoping the offense continues to improve as he continues to develop. 
 

on another note, UNT plays #25 USF. That game should tell us a little more about UNT and our opener against them. 

I’m confused. Why do we play at 6pm ? I thought all Southland games had to be 3 pm start time ? 

I don't think there are any conference rules about game times. There have been several six and seven PM conference games this season.  I don't know why Lamar wants afternoon home games.  It's hard enough to get fans to home games, why compete with the big boy's afternoon games.  There are at least a few that might come to Lamar game after Texas or A&M is over and it's not quite as hot.

The UnT game wasn’t as close as I hoped. Had they played closer, it would have helped LU with the computer rankings, and maybe the pollsters. 

I will take a win by any margin, but I am hoping for a convincing win over East Texas State. 🤣  

i see they changed there name again, I guess to be more regional. If they were going to be regionally accurate, it would be Notheast Texas A&M.

Cards get a big break as ETAM gets called for a leverage penalty on Lamar's game tying field goal attempt with 12 seconds on the clock.  The call allows the Cards to take the FG off the board and Fuselier catches the go-ahead touchdown with three seconds on the clock.  Lamar scored an earlier touchdown with about nine minutes left in the game to get to within three points.  Lamar wins 27-23.

Great comeback win! Cardiac Cards!  I am happy with a 10 point win on the road!
