The real test begins these last 4 games. McNeese *should* be the easiest of them but you can throw records out in a rivalry.

Hope McCown is back for UIW.

I think that SFA worries me more than SLU, but the Lions appear to be pretty salty themselves this year.  I am thinking that the Southland will be a two team playoff league this year, but they might g

Yesterday was the last "easy" game. I don't care if UIW is down this year- they have a championship pedigree. They know how to win and their wins are over good teams.
Can't overlook them at all.

I agree with that assessment.  But I also think that 8 games in, unless we collapse, or either SFA or SELA collapse, it is LU, SFA and SELA fighting for 2 playoff spots from the SLC.  I would love that all three get in and LU is the top seed of that group with a first round home game!  A man can dream!😎

As much as I'd love for the Southland to be a 3-bid league (would be a testament to the strength of the conference), my FIRST priority is for Big Red to be playing December football.
While the Info Guide doesn't have the dates on games before 1950, but in the last 75 years, we've played a total of 3 games in December. I'd love to add to that number.

Lamar has the hardest remaining schedule between them, SLU and SFA.  But Lamar for the most part controls their own destiny since SLU and SFA don't play each other.  I think both SLU and SFA have to win out to make the playoffs.

LU can probably afford to lose one game and still get a bid.  At this point a 8-4 record would be considered a disappointment if they don't make the playoffs.
