Guest CardAmbassador
I hope we can get all of these freshmen to campus, even if they didn't play this year they would contribute greatly to depth down the road. we have 4 freshmen that we're trying to get here. Of the four I know most are focused on Washington but I really hope Daryl Waters can make it, he looks like he would be a beast on our defense. Augustine is a DB from LC Louisiana Bowman is a OL from Beaumont Would be nice to get all four..
jdcurran235
I was hoping he would give a little more direction on the run vs pass offense. I think he is saying that he is going to run more but he evaded. It makes me nervous for how this year is going to go.

There are too many unknowns at this point to give an accurate assessment of what they'll do well. They have some quality position players that haven't made it on campus yet, they're all still very green at the new offense being installed, he just signed another JUCO O-lineman so who knows where he'll fit in. There are a lot of factors that could change what they want and even are able to do.
Mike
A couple of little things that stood out to me: - his answer on the realignment. In the past when we've brought it up it was always the standard "I'm worried about the SLC" or something similar to that answer. He did say that this time but also threw in other factors of what it would take to make a move. things he said "he cant control." It's not much but it's more than he's ever given on the subject. Was he just giving an honest answer or has this subject been discussed around campus by the powers that be? - Cam Washington being eligible is good news and only having 4 potential non qualifiers still makes this a solid incoming class. - What was JJ unhappy about his situation? Was he told to switch positions or that he wouldnt be the starter or something else? He worked hard in the Spring so what gives? - future transfers would be at a need basis.....WR help???? He mentioned multiple times how young they were at WR and how a couple walk-ons got in the first huddle at WR. - Like what I heard about the two JUCO signees. He lit up when he spoke about them so hopefully they can contribute.

West
Thanks Mike, this is good stuff. Puddin, I also got a chuckle out of Woodard's answer to your question. "We'll continue to throw it and run it." - Let's state the obvious. :D That's some classic coach speak for ya.

coachacola
Thanks Mike, this is good stuff. Puddin, I also got a chuckle out of Woodard's answer to your question. "We'll continue to throw it and run it." - Let's state the obvious. :D That's some classic coach speak for ya. that was my point earlier in the thread Why didn't Woodard bring up Larry Kueck since he is the new OC? Kueck has already said he's going to run a more balanced offense with multiple formations. I think Woodard doesn't like to talk too much about the details. Mike
I didn't really read too much into it. I thought he answered it as you'd expected him to after only a few weeks of work with these guys. Coach Kueck only arrived a week or so before Spring Drills began. He probably didn't even know all his players names yet when practices started and you guys are expecting a detailed view of his offensive gameplan? Guest bigred360
I liked all of Coach Woodards comments and I believe this is going to be a great coaching staff at Lamar!
