  • Lamar just needs to win out.  A 10-2 Lamar with wins over three FCS ranked teams should deserve a home game if not a bye.

Lamar at No. 15 Abilene Christian(Winner at No. 2 Montana State)

I just want LU to get in and win their first round game, which in all likelihood will be on the road.  If they win the first game, that will give them a lot of confidence and maybe they can win two or three games and set up the program for the next few years.

If that happens, Rossomando has definitely been a great hire.  He already is a good hire!  Hoping he stays around for a while.  A winning program, even if the offense is not a continuous highlight reel, beats a losing program that puts up big numbers on offense!

I will take a 14-12 win against SELA over a 45-42 loss to SELA where we racked up 400+ yards, but lost.

Before today's games the MVFC was projected to have six teams make the playoffs, but I can't see them getting that many in.  At max they will only have five teams with four or less losses.  If Lamar wins next week, then there will be four conferences with three teams with three losses or less and the MVFC will only have two teams with less than three losses. If that is the case there is no way the MVFC should get more than three in. If these five conferences were to each get three in then that would leave nine spots for the other six conferences and a couple of those will have two teams with three or less losses.

With today's results there are a total of 18 FCS teams with three or less losses and one of those is like fourth or fifth in their conference.  So the question becomes do all of the three loss schools get in or how does the committee decide which four loss schools deserve to be in ahead of a three loss school.  There were upsets in multiple conferences today.

I am thinking, sadly, that we do not get in. Our two ranked wins are going to be offset by our two losses to subpar teams. Also, our beloved LU doesn’t have a good reputation of prior success to lean on.  The loss last night to the cowpokes plays into that reputation and that will likely stick with the committee.

if the committee takes three teams from the SLC, they may take UTRGV, they are playing at the end of the season like they are ascending. LU playing like we are descending.

Looks like LU will sneak into the playoffs.

That will be a gift from God!

Enuf bubble teams lost yesterday, that we could still get in.

SLU is hosting a first round game.  Beating McNeese probably would have given LU a home game.

Wow ! Really thought we played our way out. After looking at last 4 in and last 4 out we probably did barely deserve a spot. Great news now go do something with the opportunity.

ACU beat Central Arkansas and SFA but lost to UIW. They have won their last 4 games while LU has lost 3 out of 4.

When they announced 7-5 North Dakota, I thought we were toast

If the bracket is actually seeded, the team playing #10 Abilene Christian should be #23 or the next to last team in.  It looks like they may have tried to lean on geography to set first round games.  Whatever, WE'RE IN!!  go Cards,

TV r web I saw r hear to try keep it regional for team travel cost.

I was reading an article saying that most teams lose money when they participate in the playoffs.

North Dakota was the third-place team in the MVFC conference, and they had a solid non-conference schedule. While I hate seeing the number of teams that conference got into the playoffs none of the four teams that had less losses had anywhere near the strength of schedule.

Portland st and valpo are solid ooc wins?  The “solid” games they lost.

Don't know what it will take for the coaching staff to get the team motivated, or for the players themselves to get motivated to play at the next level and win a game or two in the playoffs.  Hoping Rossomando digs into his bag of tricks, or someone else's bag of tricks, for some offensive firepower and get on a run!

Interesting…..we have a winning record vs ACU  andddd a winning record IN Abilene!

ok, most of it was back when we we pretty bad ass in football, but we are 2-1 in Abilene since we brought back football!

Well, we can certainly screw that up.
