Here is my guess of the starting line. I have watched a few running workouts in the morning, and a few other things.

Left Tackle

77 Justin Brock 6-4 255 Fr.-RS

56 Kameron Edwards 6-3 275 7 SR-1L

Left Guard

72 Brock Wempa 6-2 310 Jr.-TR

73 Scott Utterback 6-1 285 Fr.-RS

Center

64 Kyle Gillam 6-1 260 Jr.-2L

65 Ryan Jones 6-4 260

Right Guard

58 Bret Treadway 6-2 245 1 FR-HS (Very strong and can move pretty well)

73 Scott Utterback 6-1 285

Right Tackle

61 Colton Collins 6-3 310 Sr.-1L

75 Taylor Davis 6-3 300 5 JR-1L70

70 Stephen Babin 6-4 280 Jr.-2L

Other OL:

62 Garrett Baxley 6-6 230 1 FR-HS (Maybe put him at TE or DE? He is front of the pack every time I see him run)

55 Luke Campbell 6-5 285 1 FR-HS

66 Marshall Fairchild 6-3 290 5 JR-2L (Could play at one of the OG spots)

52 Joe Persohn 6-3 220 1 FR-HS

50 Sean Robertson 6-1 275 7 SR-1L

Interesting you put Bret Treadway as the starting RG while the prospectus has Robertson as the starter. With both Brock and Treadway under 260 lbs, do you think they have the strength and speed to make up for their size?

Brock has great footwork. He put on 45 pounds since freshmen year(red shirt) So he is now around 290. If you look at him he has a good frame and moves very will. Mcknight LOVES Tredway. Tredway is the third strongest person on the team as a freshmen. He is in good shape always finishing in first or second on the track along with Hollyfield(DT/DE) and Baxley.

How has Kameron Edwards looked?

BTW, thanks for the info and I like your screen name. ;)

Lol I didn't know there was another Mike when I joined!

I actually forgot about 50 Sean Robertson 6-1 275 7 SR-1L. Mcknight also loves him so I would say the OG spots are between Sean, Brett, And Brock. Should be good to see who wins the spot during camp.

If I'm that big tight end, Cory Soto...I'd be hiding if the O-line coach is close by

I'm thinking the same thing puddin'

I honestly think that Soto will never be on the O-Line. He is to skinny. The TE spot is pretty scarce. The O-Line has pretty good depth with 14(I believe). I think that Baxley and Pershan are going to get positions changes from OL to maybe a TE or DE spot. Both can move pretty well, and both have good size for a few positions.

How has Kameron Edwards looked?

Sorry for the three posts all back to back to back...

Kameron looks to be around 6'2 300. He works well with pass blocking and run blocking.

We really appreciate the info. I was getting worried about the OL with the loss of Oden, Campbell and Bailey but with what you've said the OL should be ok this season.

Brock put on 35 lbs? Dang, what's his diet? Four steaks a day. Good to hear that some of the younger guys have added size to the line.

Another of note is that McKnight has been asked to turn down his intensity. Still the loudest though.

Mistake!! If the Oline guys can't take it then they aren't tough enough for the war in the trenches!

**New just heard from McKnight that Sean will be starting a OG and Brett will be backup

Who is Brett?

I'm assuming he's talking about Brett Treadway. He is listed at 6'2" and only 245. I haven't seen him but at that weight and only being a freshman, I can only assume he better put on some weight...even if he is a back up.
Posted
Tredway is 98% the back up. He is bigger then 245, he is around 255/260. He is the third strongest kid on the team. I heard he lifted 350 bench and 500 squat the last few days in the weight room.

Did our guys do a lift-a-thon this year? I would love to compare it to last years. It was easy to see who was the getting the most out of S&C.

I don't believe so. Haven't heard anything about it

Hope the kid continues to grow in size & strength. But 260lbs is still light for O-line even for FCS when you are going against 290-300lb DL's and he is a freshman. Would really have to be advanced for me to see he could step in a start with what we have returning.

There's no doubt that we are now stacked at RB. My question, though, is how well will we be able to block to get those RBs out of the backfield?

Hopefully a lot better than last year! Here's the starting OL for the McNeese game:

LT - Oden (305 lbs)

LG - Campbell (370 lbs)

C - Gillam (270 lbs)

RG - Robertson (275 lbs)

RT - Epple (280 lbs) - senior

Experience: 1 senior, 1 junior, 3 sophomores

Avg Weight: 300 lbs (Campbell's weight skews the average)

Coach: Reeves (no OL coaching experience)

Here's the probable starting lineup this year:

LT - Brock (290 lbs ??)

LG - Wempa (310 lbs)

C - Gillam (275 lbs)

RG - Robertson (275 lbs)

RT - Collins (310 lbs)

Experience: 1 senior, 3 juniors, 1 freshman

Avg Weight: 292 lbs

Coach: McKnight (FBS OL coaching experience)

On paper I think the starting 5 this year will be better than last year. Campbell was overweight last year and Oden wasn't very motivated. Gillam and Robertson are a year older. McKnight seems to be highly motivated and his coaching alone should make a difference.

I agree, this year the guys seem to be a real unit. They may not be the biggest but they are much more motivated and agile. McKnight may come off strong but he knows how to produce a good O-line
