Update on Darryl Waters

I've noticed he's not listed on the roster that was posted a few weeks ago...has anyone heard anything official about his appeal to the NCAA?

A new NCAA rule says if you sit out a year after high school then you lose a year of eligibility in college. Here's the article about him:

Got some info on Waters tonight and the news isn't good.

 

The NCAA ruled that he was a non-qualifier and he's now enrolled to attend a JC in California. So Darryl will not be suiting out for the Cardinals this year. Here's hoping he gets things together this year in California.

Dang that sucks...just hope he remembers the fact that we still wanted him when no one else did when it comes time to leave that place though

Having both Waters and Mitchell on the team this year sure would have been nice. Oh well, Lamar still has some good young linebackers on the team.

I agree this sucks, but I feel good about our LB's, Waters would have added more depth which is something we're starting to get in other positions.

Darryl Waters transferred to Mount San Antonio College in California. Looks like he'll grayshirt this year then play next year for them. He won't be playing D1 ball for a few years.
