After that, all practices are closed as the team prepares to play 12 games this season, the first being Sept. 1 at Louisiana-Lafayette.The Cardinals will hold night practices on 15 of the 18 practice dates open for public viewing, according to a practice schedule provided by Lamar. The first practice is 7 p.m. Aug. 6. Lamar will hold two scrimmages: 9 a.m. Aug. 11 and 7 p.m. Aug. 18.
