I was able to watch some of the second half, not sure what to say about it though. Langston was pretty awful, our line was again not that good. Moss did a good job of getting rid of the ball quickly, because he had too.

The defense is pretty good if it gets help from the offense and special teams, I think thats all we can really say about our chances going into conference.

I'm not sure if it's actually possible to fix the line, I think we just have to run quick plays to the outside and slip TEs and RBs out side the tackles for quick gains. I have alot of worries about the offense, and the special teams has left question in my head after the hawaii game.

Still great to be 2-2 this is where we thought we would be at this point in the season, so we can't be too frustrated or dissatisfied.

Christopher Dabe ?@cmdabe Jayce Nelson to wear No. 84. He's the PN-G grad added to active roster after wrist injury to WR Michael Handy. Nelson was to be redshirted.

Still some empty seats 20 minutes before kickoff... #BEscores http://pic.twitter.com/7coVFV90

He was a heckuva high school receiver. If we works hard and gets in the weght room he can be very good at LU!

I feel like I am always disagreeing with you but I really don't know what you were watching. I only watched the second half as well and there was virtually no pressure on Moss at all. The run blocking wasn't all that great but I am not very impressed with Sims thus far. It was late in the game but 33 looked like he has some good speed/quickness at the rb position.

I watched the first half and the o-line looked terrible. The team was suffering from some jet lag as they looked sluggish on both offense and defense and had some silly offside penalties called against them. I'm not that impressed with Simms yet either. Looked like he just slipped down on one play and another he got caught from behind. He did have one nice run that was called back. Langston would give PVAMU a good game.

I think we're going to see more passing as the season progresses. 27 attempts against ULL, 30 against PVAMU, 23 against Hawaii, 36 tonight. Moss will get more comfortable throwing to his receivers, plus that o-line isn't going to open big holes for the running backs.

Was at the game. It is fun having football back!!! But, unless we make major improvement I have no allusions that we will finish better than 6th in conference. I love all our guys on the team including the O-line (Kyle Gilliam is one of my favorite players) but the O-line is not up to top tier SLC. We are undersized and do not get the push necessary for for an effective ground game. Someone said they are not impressed with Simms but hey, the truth is Barry Sanders would have a heck of a time making plays behind our line. I am not a coach nor have been a coach, but if it were me these guys would see nothing but the weight room (so long girlfriends) until they all weighed 290+, benched 350+ and squatted 500+. They didn't have that committment, then I would find me guys who did. If ULM can compete on the level they are with the same athletic budget as LU, then we can do the same. If LU had beat Arkansas and played Auburn to OT and gave Baylor a real scare, then PUS would have had 20k plus tonight for Langston and we would be turning poeple away for the conference games!!!!

NAIA is what we played against tonite and we only put up 31. We didn't have a rb with more than 50 yards. I'll tell what I did see. Holes in our secondary. I saw open Langston receivers who either dropped the ball or the pass was off. Their receivers got open. Our defense looked much better in the second half. I did see KJ drop 3or 4 catchable passes. Special teams look much better. Our offense has problems. I can't figure out if we run to set up the pass because we don't pass to set up our running game. If we are going to throw then let's lose the rb except to block and split everbody out to open the field. When we do run, open up the splits to give our rb's some room to find a hole. We did not beat NAIA Langston with our o-line. I was not impressed with this victory, we were supposed to win this game. Sorry to be so negative after a shut out win.

I agree with you North, we need a lot more improvement. I too liked the cannon.

Agreed on the cannon though it was a shock at first.

I think a lot of the inconsistency we keep seeing is from a mediocre O-Line. That's just what you're going to get at this point. I think Sims is a very good back and Moss is a good quarterback, when they have proper blocking. No RB looks good when he doesn't have holes to run through. You see that every weekend in the NFL. With the exception of Brock, I'm not excited by any of the young O-lineman we have coming up.

I think we'll see mixed results in conference play. I think we'll beat the weaker teams like SE LA and Nichol St and have mixed results or losses vs. the stronger ones. We may pull out one or two against the mid-level teams as we have a moderately good defense. Our D-Line is really improved. We're getting solid play out of our LB's, including contribution from some RS sophomores and true freshmen. Our DB's are doing a pretty good job and is what I consider one of our strengths at this point.

How about that hit Ploch, #23, put on the punt receiver???? That woke everyone up! ;)

Also, I continue to be impressed with our kicker, Stout. That was a nice FG he nailed.
