LamarMcDad Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 McVey was in there Saturday...I watch for 88 every game (but then, I'm biased). He played a few series as he gets back in the swing (mild hamstring issue)... Soto got the bulk of the playing time and does a great job. We'll see 88 in the game this weekend and I sure hope they pass to the flats and across the middle with our two solid TEs and RBs. That should set up some deep options for KJ &co against a better team we'll face this weekend. I'm looking forward, with fingers crossed, to see how we'll stack up against a conference opponent (finally). I'm expecting a better showing than last year, even. It seems the O Line will tell the tale. Thanks for all the commentary you guys provide every week. It's not always what I'd like to hear but it is insightful and it's obvious you're really invested in Lamar Red. Keep it coming ... the good, bad and the ugly. ;-) Quote
LamarAlum Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I know your biased but we should be looking to get the best athletes on the field to benefit the TEAM. Quote

I'm hoping that we were saving some of those passes to the flats and across the middle for conference play. Quote
cardinal Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I watched the first half of the game and I don't remember seeing Soto in the game. At 6-8 he's hard to miss. But I still think the coaches treated this game a little like a scrimmage because they are still learning a new offense. I hope you are right. We are showing all the creativity of a pop warner team. McVey and Soto are great options...and like McLUDad said, use those big boys over the middle and it will open up other things. Quote
LamarMcDad Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 I know your biased but we should be looking to get the best athletes on the field to benefit the TEAM. I completely agree, Alum. But isn't it better to have all of our TEs healthy? I'm going to continue hoping the all these young men are ready to play and continue hoping that 88 will earn a place on the field. I didn't say anything other than that. I've been a coach, albeit a soccer coach, for more than 25 years and I know you don't put a kid on the field just to get warm fuzzies...they have to earn their spot. Quote
puddin tane Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 ...our drive when we really need it at the end..a drop by soto a drop by hannah...why wasnt mcvey even on the field? kid is clearly the best TE....the massive subbing has me baffled.. Quote
