More respectable outcome than I thought!!! We closed the gap 50 points from the last season. That is progress!

So Puddin I guess it took ten games to figure out Moss could throw the ball down field. That 5 yard game plan wasn't working out. Most OC's might have made the change sooner but not our ole school run run guy!!!

I'd like a more balanced attack. Like others, I'm still trying to understand the strategy of all the 2nd half runs in the UCA game.

Just wondering if the coaches were attempting to take better control of the game and get back in it via the run. In the first half, we got burned on a 76 yard touchdown pass. On another UCA scoring drive, there was a 41 yard pass. It would be a lot better to control with a lead, but we were down 17 when we were passing. At least the running game got us a little closer.

We were 11-19 for 96 yards in the game on passing. Longest pass was for 15 yards so the passes that we did make were dink and dunk passes. As others have mentioned, I would have like to see if we could have aired it out a little bit. Didn't see the game, but it did look like Berry had a few sacks based on the play-by-play. He might not have had much time to pass the ball - leaving the run. We did have long sustained drives, just took too much time so it looks like we controlled them and us as well. Might have been a decent strategy if we hadn't already spotted them 17.

I like that we had a little air in the SFA game. To me, it looked like each half was a different game. We were 5-14 with 17 total yards passing in the 1st half. Not a real good completion percentage in the second half, but we did have several nice Mossakowski to Edwards combinations.

I may have posted this before but Kueck's play calling was a problem at Marshall back in 2006:

Marshall's offensive play calling was so conservative that even San Diego Chargers head coach Marty Schottenheimer would have complained. I was watching the game with a friend who could not tell you the difference between a football and a Fruit Roll-Up, yet even he was able to predict whether Marshall was going to run the ball or throw it before they ran the play. If a 20-year-old guy who is football illiterate can predict Marshall's play calling, you have a major problem. Marshall's offensive coordinator, Larry Kueck, came under fire last season for unoriginal play calling, but Coach Snyder stuck with him for some still unknown reason. Finding a person who still supports Coach Kueck's play calling is about as difficult as finding a Marshall student wearing WVU apparel on campus - oh wait, you see dozens of those people everyday walking to class, bad comparison.

In Kueck's defense, he does have a quarterback who is still relatively inexperienced and a group of wide receivers who would struggle to win a relay race if they were the only team running. But when you have a decent offensive line, a good fullback in Will Albin, and the best running back in the conference, line up in the I formation and run the ball. Not giving Ahmad Bradshaw the ball 25 times a game makes about as much sense as taking your best athlete, and the guy who led the team in tackles, off the field for most of the game. I stand corrected again, they're doing that with Dennis Thornton, another bad comparison.
