Won't he be eligible this fall? If so then the QB spot maybe got a little more interesting!

I heard Lamar may be getting a receiver from UH also.

Not entirely sure if that part's true.

That being said, Dausin will most likely be your starter come opening day. I said about 8 months ago that any of our QBs would start at LU. (We still have 6-7 on roster right now so I won't be surprised if the others move to other positions or transfer) especially since we brought in O'Korn and Cosh.

"Any of our QB's would start at LU". I seriously doubt that. And I wouldn't automatically pencil this kid in as the starter. I hope he's wonderful but we shall see.

Yep. Confirmed!!! ;) Do not know his name though.

DeWayne Peace was ruled academically ineligible and has left the team. He was Houston's leading receiver. If he's the one that is transferring to Lamar he may not be eligible to play this coming season.

You do realize how big the talent gap between LU and UH is? Dausin, who was 4th-5th string on our depth chart may very well be your starter. That alone is enough of a statement.

Might be true, but I'll wait to see the performance on the field. For example, Ryan Mossakowski, a transfer to LU from Kentucky last year, was a Rivals 4-star player out of high school. Dausin was a Rivals 2-star player. It depends on what the player does on the field as well as the support he gets. I'm glad we have Dausin. I hope he and the other players perform to the best of their abilities. There's nothing wrong with a little position competition.

Looking at the other UH quarterbacks who had playing time, Piland and Kohlhausen were Rivals 3-star players. Menning and Garrett were unrated.

Rivals is a good gauge, but it is not perfect. For example, Johnny Manziel, the A&M Heisman trophy winner, was a Rivals 3-star player out of high school. Manziel is an example of a player who showed it on the field and had great support from his teammates.

Go back to Montrose, Cougar Queen. You're missing Pride Week.

UH was manhandled by Texas State last year, who was coming off of a 4 - 4 Southland Conference Season. I don't think the talent gap is that big.

Yet we beat them 68-28 in 2010 and would've likely put 100 on them in 2011. Think again. We fired the OC not even an hour after the game because we lost with superior talent. That being said, last year's team were almost all freshmen and sophomore starters. Imo, if the game was played late ron in the season, we would have demolished them. But it's all coulda woulda shoulda talk.

The recievers name is Mark Roberts. I think he went to WOS, that's about all I know about him

Roberts, yeah. He did go to WOS.

Fair enough.

We'll see how much of a factor the three guys we brought in this year to compete at QB are.

HAHA you got killed by Texas State but yet you would have "donkey pinched" Slam. Sometimes I can't figure out who is more delusional, Cougar fans or Dallas Cowboy fans. BTW this is coming from a guy who follows UH athletics pretty closely and is a fan of the Cougs. Besides Lamar and Texas A&M, UH is probably the school I cheer for the most. I appreciate your loyalty to UH, but there comes a time when you have to admit that you just sucked large last season. The schools of the deaf and blind could have beaten y'all last year. Unfortunately they would have beat Lamar as well. This fall is a different season however so it could be a different story and I hope that it is for both teams.

You're not a real COOG fan.

UH didn't show very much last season with a new coaching staff. First Art Briles turned the program around and Kevin Sumlin built on it but the Cougars took a major step back last year. I'm surprised more of the UH players aren't bailing. If Dausin was a Sumlin recruit he has potential and I will be interested to see how he does. Neither of LU's QB's set the world on fire last season so some added competition can only be a good thing.

Kats by 2 scores in 2012.

Tx State.........haha

We wouldn't lose to some little league school who can only put 8k in their high school stadium despite being ranked and undefeated. You don't have the depth nor the size to play with us. There's a reason why people from that obscure Southland school don't talk trash to us. You may be top tier FCS but you're not even a blip on the radar in FBS where we play big boy football.

Cougar High is too scared to schedule Sam because they know they'd get their asses WHIPPED.
