  1. Lamar MBB announced the signing of Quinton Sanders from Houston Wheatley. I tend to discount press clipping with "nobody signs bad players" but this guy looks like he could be special. https://lamarcardinals.com/news/2025/6/5/mens-basketball-cardinals-add-scoring-punch-in-quinton-sanders.aspx
  2. There was no mention of him during spring practice. Is he really coming back? We've known about the JUCO rule for some time.
  3. Could not agree more! Saturday night against McNeese was like a game back in the 80s or 90s. It starts with defense and this team defends. he finally has enough players keep fresh defenders on the floor at all times. Fans are starting to notice and, most importantly, care again! Thanks, Coach Brooks
  4. They also added Albert Simon from Nederland. That makes 12 new ones.
  5. I have been following the Signing Day feed. The first 14 signees listed are from the early signing period. New signees start with Paul Omodia. I count nine new guys so far (11:15 on Wednesday). Connor Martin and Roy Jenkins are not among those.
  6. Not about this squad but during a timeout of the HCC games four players from the glory days were introduced: Tommy Sewell, Brian and Tony Kelleybrew, and George Milhouse. I didn't see it in any of the news media coverage so it's one of those you may missed if you weren't at the game. Sewell is still highest draft pick, in any sport, the Cardinals ever had.
  7. He came from Delaware which is about as far from Philly as we are from Houston. Maybe he's just going home.
  8. Whatever the number, this team was hurt by penalties
  9. I'm one of those people who thinks winning is better than losing. I appreciate a coach who plays the style that gives his team the best chance to win. I agree with the discipline comment. We were one the most penalized team anywhere.
  10. Preston Mattingly, the son of Don Mattingly, who played basketball for Lamar from 2013 to 2016 has been named the general manager of the Philadelphia Phillies. I saw his dad at a Lamar game, sitting with Gilligan.
  11. Cards dominated the first half but were unable to do anything after halftime. They had all the stats at halftime but only a 7 point lead. I don't know why Coleman came out. Was he hurt or was he benched for two horrible decisions--the pick six in the first half and the interception late over the middle when he was running for his life and just threw it up?
  12. Other roster changes: Jakevion Buckley is now at SE Louisiana, Terry Anderson is at High Point, Aleksa Lekic is at Kilgore and Brian Gordon is at TAMU-Kingsville. Little-used Max Pearcy is gone but I don't know where
  13. Catt is at Houston Christian.
  14. I hope thread lasts more than one more game but did you notice that former Cardinal Mike Sarbaugh produced twelve runs tonight (Well he waived them in). Number 86 coaching third for the Mets.
  15. He was hurt just before the half against Weber State. He returned to the huddle but they had to take him out because the clock was stopped for his injury. Longino threw a short TD pass on the next play. Coleman hasn't played since. He dressed out against TSU (with heavy wrap on one leg)
