The lightning delay could be good news for our non-existent offense. I agree. We were moving the ball in the first half, but the offensive wheels have pretty well come off the bus in the 2nd. We've made some gains, but not with any consistency in the 2nd half. Quote

It seams like the receivers are covered though. need to run the ball outside the tackles more. Need to make their corners honor the run. Every outside run has been for big gains. They have put the defense in many bad positions and they have responded just about every time I'm very proud of the D in this game. Quote

NorthoftheBorder Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Went over to KatFans (maybe only my second time ever) to see if they were going beserk because the score was this close late in the 4th and was surprised that they were holding their composure and even were almost complimentary in some posts, but they were not terribly rude!! Wooten was confused how LU had held them to only 14. If we could just ever get our offense clicking, we might have a really competitive team. Quote

I read on the SHSU fan site that some of their fans think that this year's Bearkats team would beat the two teams from the last two years. That may be him just blowing smoke up everyone's asses, but we lost by 66 two years ago, 35 or so last year, and we're down by 11 this year. We are still a start-up program, so to think we're competing with the national runner-up this well in our 4th year is great. I think several of us take the strength of this conference for granted. LUSportsFan Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Poster on katfans.com mentioned that the game was scheduled to restart at 6:10, but he saw lightning as he was posting so that may be at least another 30 minutes from that time (5:50 pm based on the katfans.com time stamp of the post) so I'm guessing that the earliest would be around 6:20. Another katfans poster mentioned 7:00 so who knows. When the delay began, the KLVI folks mentioned that there is a 30 minute "clock" that restarts each time lightning is seen at the stadium. Lots of good things to take away from this game as well as lots of things to work on for improvement. I agree that the Defense should be MVP!! Quote
