Every team needs to be challenged to grow and learn. Playing D2 teams don't help, but playing upper tier teams destroys any confidence the team might have. Surely there is a happy medium there...teams that challenge, but we can be competitive with. But, an upgrade in talent should be the primary focus.

I don't like the D2 games either but if you have minimal to zero returning leadership like last years team had and you have replaced over half of the team each of the last two years you need some positives. There are many aspects of the LU program that needs to improve, but winning cools the emotions of the fans that don't appreciate playing a tough schedule or being willing to work through some bad years to potentially move forward. I know the posts on this board recently indicate an unwillingness to wait for wins. Despite the record this team is better than last year. We have no idea of what difference Lattibeaudiere might have made to this team.

I hate to say this as I dislike playing lower classification teams but perhaps with all the new pieces both of the last two years LU should have played two or three D2 teams in the pre-conference portion of the season to learn the joy of winning. No excuses for the apparent inadequate talent as that is coaches job to get the players he or she needs, but perhaps before going to an all D1 schedule you should get the program on solid ground and be ready to win a number of D1 games early.

I don't think playing a tougher schedule makes you one iota better and I don't think playing weak teams makes you worse. If you are good you are good. If you suck you suck. However, I thought last year's schedule was absurdly difficult. I liked this year's schedule. Our problem is our team and our coach are no good.

The only point to the schedule was winning breeds winning and loosing breeds loosing, so maybe if you aren't good enough to at least win occasionally you should schedule one or two your sure you can win. PK needs to admit at least to himself that he is at least part of the problem.
