cardinal Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Oldtimer brianwash, Lamar score more points we win. Every time we play favoritism football we lose. Every time we spread the ball around on offense we win..Chatter mouth. I not saying our defense is gr8. There giving up less points now then b4. Offense not scoring enough points to win plain and simple. Southland conference is s high scoring league. Put up 40+ points u win, put up 30 or less Lamar loses. We won against Sam Houston spreading the ball around. We played Baylor good n lst half spreading the ball around. As soon as favoritism football comes in 3rd qt. Lamar sucks on offense. That's why our 2nd halfs sucks..We stop scoring and rely on our defense to stop and hold while we play favoritism offense. Learn real football, not Lamar backyard boogie football, where 2 players play on 5 arces of favoritism. It's not the players fault, its the offensive play calling. As far as open receivers, its take a few seconds longer for a player to run 20 - 40 yds down field to create timing open space, vs a 5 yd down and out or hitch play, or 6 yd down and in. Every WR on Lamar has drop a ball r 2. We have no pass attack bcuz the qbs are brainwashed to throw the ball to 1 receiver 75% of the time for short yardage. We donts bes loosin cuz our offense. We bes loosin cuz our defence cants be stoppin nobodies.. When I gots home affer ours game. I be watchin Bammy LSU. Bammy done gave they runnin back da ball 38 times! Hows can day be winnin doins that?!! Quote
cardinal Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Maybe thems other receivers should be getting opens. It's simply. There can't gets opened and if they does, they drops the ball Defense is losing these games, chowder head...what team have you been watching. Almost noon Sunday....RayRay, Chucky and McIdiot still have jobs? we have the 6th ranked scoring offense in the country. We have the 86th ranked scoring defense. So, yeah, I guess our offense is really struggling!! Smh Quote
lu cards Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 losing this game is inexcusable.i was all for resigning Woodard to a new contract but unless he make the playoffs next year I say it stime to move on. Quote
lustrong2 Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Looking at our total offensive stats for FCS rankings. We rank #6 n the nation n rushing and 77th n the nation n passing.Total offense we rank #10, which is pretty dam good overall. MY BAD on the offensive side. We don't pass very well, but the rushing makes up the difference n a big way. Thanks to the offensive line & Kade. Our defense is the more trouble. We need 40+ points to win, with the defense we had. Hopefully these last 2 games the defense can hold our opponent to less than 25 points I hope. Quote
eagle eye Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Maybe it's a change at coach that is needed. I'm not talking about Woodard I'm talking about the defensive coordinator now. Maybe we need a change there and it helps improve the defense in the same way replacing Kueck helped the offense. I think that we can all agree that Chuck Langston has done a better job than Kueck and it could be that a new DC will do a better job than McGallion. I hate to be ugly but I can't see a replacement doing any worse considering we allowed over 500 yards of offense to Nicholls and allowed Northwestern State to pass us to death. That was a team that hadn't won a game all season until Lamar rolled into town. The deficiencies on defense has killed lamar. It was bad enough when we couldn't stop the pass but now, I'm assuming to help the pass defense, the run defense has gone down the toilet. In back to back weeks Abilene Christian and Nicholls have run the ball down our throats. I know at the beginning of the year the word was that Carson Earp was the running QB and Joe Minden was the passing QB but all I've seen out of Minden is pretty disappointing. He hasn't been all that accurate and he's turned the ball over way too much. When Minden was out Earp passed and ran effectively. It's a shame he can't get back on the field more. Maybe it's because Minden is a senior and Earp is a Junior. I don't know but either way Earp has been the more effective QB IMO. Quote

Coach McGalliion retired a few days ago. Coach Criner is taking over the interim DC job. Quote

"I think that we can all agree that Chuck Langston has done a better job than Kueck" not me.at least with Kueck, we had a glimmer of a passing game Minden-Earp..Don't matter. Two weakest quarterbacks (that play)we had since we started back up Quote
eagle eye Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 I disagree that Minden and Earp are the worst QBs since we started up. We had success early on when both guys alternated series during a game. When Minden got hurt Earp showed he was more than a running QB. He also passed the ball pretty well leading the team to a win over SAM and the team was doing well until he was injured during the SELA game. Minden was the sole QB during our losses to NWST and Central Arkansas and he was the primary guy against Nicholls. It's not all on Minden, the defense decided that being bad against the pass wasn't good enough and they added ineptitude against the run to the mix. It also didn't help that the Lamar kicker missed two very makeable field goals against Nicholls, either one of which would have won the game. As they say, it's a team sport and you both win and lose as a team. It's rarely one person's fault. IMO Earp is the better QB on the current roster and with he could get on the field more. It makes the season seem so lost after we started out so strong only to lose to teams we all chalked up as wins in the preseason. I don't want to kick a man when he's down but with what little season is left Coach Criner doesn't have much time to work with. If he stays on in that position next season it will be interesting to see what happens. Like all these interim coaches in the NFL that have done well to start with maybe Criner can get something out of the defense that McGallion couldn't and we can finish strong. We have a surprisingly tough Incarnate Word and conference leading McNeese left. Barring bad weather, if we can manage two wins in those last two games it would sure make the last month a little more easy to bear. We should beat IW and we beat McNeese to end last season so, Virginia, can we have an early Christmas? As far as the passing game goes, don't you think the fact we have Kade makes the passing game a complimentary piece to the run game? Just a little bit? I'm just saying I have seen with my own eyes Earp do better than Minden throwing the ball. I'm just saying..................... Quote
