3 Texas Tech Defensive Players Transferring

Defensive lineman Mike Mitchell and defensive backs Jalen Barnes and Derrick Dixon, all sophomores, will transfer.

 

Mitchell played in nine games this season, Barnes played in five and Dixon played in three.

Just noticed that this was first reported back in December so this is old news. Mitchell was a 5* LB who first went to Ohio State then transferred to Texas Tech. Jalen Barnes is from Port Arthur.

Any chance these guys will follow Haverty to Lamar? Also for the DBacks how do they compare to what we have? One thing for sure they would have gotten plenty of reps in practice against a good throwing offense.

Beaumont Enterprise's Danny Shapiro is reporting that Barnes has transferred to Lamar and is already enrolled. When we hired Haverty I was doing a little research on his recruiting and remember seeing that Haverty was the primary recruiter for Barnes when he came out of Port Arthur Memorial.
