Don't really know much about this guy, but in the '80s Lamar hired Ken Stevens from Arkansas Tech, and he had developed a consistent D2 powerhouse there. His problem at Lamar, he still recruited D2 talent. Lamar did not win because they were too small and to slow for D1AA.

 

Hope whoever we choose in the future has some D1 experience.

Sorry about that, you are correct. He resigned from Lamar and went to Arkansas Tech.

This is just my opinion, but, if Lamar decided to go in another direction, Hiring a successful HC, from a lower classification, would not be my first choice.There has to be a boatload of successful assistants and or current HC's that would think Lamar would either be a step up or a good lateral move. Whoever they may consider, I hope that he has an current impressive track record of recruiting and,most importantly, the developing of QB's.

I disagree. If you can get a proven HC at a lower level then do it!! We aren't going to be able to get a successful FCS head coach to switch. Those are looking to go FBS

hmm..Chris Hatcher-Samford! altho alot of coaches use Samford as a stepping stone to fbs. who wants to live in Birmingham? double his salary. Hatch attack! he throws the piss outta the ball!!
