3:50 remaining in the first half and the Cards are down by five. Lamar is having another terrible shooting performance. Can't make layups. Lamar is shooting 29% from the field. The team has trailed all but about two minutes of the game. UTRGV builds a little lead and the Cards come back but can't seem to keep the momentum going. Too many turnovers also with the Cards committing 8 at this point.

Halftime and the game is tied at 38. Bosha got hot and has a total of 12 points in 13 minutes of action. Weisbrod also has twelve points followed by Frenchwood with six. Weisbrod has nine rebounds. The Cards finished the last four minutes of the half without a turnover and end the half with 8 compared to 10 for UTRGV. UTRGV also has fourteen fouls to Lamar's eight.

Lamar starts the 2nd half decently going up by three points at 15:41 left in the game but then go into their turnover and scoring funk over the next four minutes to go down by 12 with 11:00 minutes to go.

Cards are down by 15 with 7:33 left in the game but the Cards have begun to show a little life again in the last minute or two and UTRGV has two players with four fouls and three others with three. So maybe a few more fouls and a little offense the Cards can get back into this game.

2:48 left in the game and the Cards are now down by twelve, but are trading too many baskets. Cards need to go on a serious run to pull this game out.

Final score UTRGV 95 Lamar 81, Lamar committed the majority of their nine second half turnovers during the six minute scoring draught that allowed UTRGV to blow out from three points down to their twelve point lead during the mid point of the 2nd half. Bosha had his best game since his Freshman season, Weisbrod had a double double but you can't win games letting the other team shoot nearly 60%. Next game is Monday at home.

Another double digit loss for the Cards. They better get their act together fast. They are now 3-5 against D1 teams but they should beat Liberty at home before they start conference. A .500 record in conference is probably the best they can do.

If we can't compete with a marginal team on the road, I don't see us winning any SLC games on the road either. With probable home loses to Corpus & SFA, we should finish close to the preseason prognostications. Tic should have 1 more year to get us to the SLC tourney.
