Agree 100%, Lady Cards are currently tied for second in the conference with ACU although ACU has the tie breaker for tourney seeding and I believe they are eligible this year, Also tied for the second best overall record behind SFA with UCA at 12-4. Only senior getting significant playing time is Bowers, but she will be hard to replace as she plays very physical and is a strong rebounder. Hadn't posted a specific thread on the ladies but have mentioned them in a couple of game threads that were double headers with the men.

Ladies are at Nicholls this afternoon and at halftime are trailing by 9. Looks like the Cards got in foul trouble during the second quarter and Nicholls took advantage to go on a 12-4 run at the end of the quarter. Ladies will need to come out strong in the 2nd half. Poor shooting through the second and third quarters, plus foul trouble put the ladies in a hole they couldn't quite climb out of. Ladies fell behind by as many as 19 points with about two minutes left in the third quarter. The ladies came back strong pulling to within a point before Bowers and then Desamours fouled out in the last two minutes of the game. Nicholls then converted Cardinal turnovers, missed shots and desperation fouls to win by nine. Edited by geezer

Over the past ten days the Ladies have slipped from tied for first in the conference to tied for third. While the ladies have a better record than either of the teams that they play this week, they need to right the ship and get a winning streak going. Ladies have been plagued in their two conference losses with foul troubles and poorer three point shooting than their average for the year.

The Ladies should win today as they are better and the Cowgirls are depleted by three ACL injuries. The Cowgirls also have a new coach so we have an edge there too.

Ladies loose at SFA and now sit in fourth place but third for tourney seating as ACU is not eligible. Like the men the ladies have three road games and two home games left, but all five games are against teams in the bottom half of the standings. The big thing over the next couple of weeks for the ladies is to make sure everyone is healthy and get focused for the tourney. They still need to win the rest of their games for seeding purposes but being ready to play at their peak come tourney time is most important.

Since the loss to SFA the Lady Cards have gone 2-0 beating HBU and TAMU-CC. Their schedule is the same as the men's with home games against HBU and Nicholls and they finish on the road at McNeese. If LU sweeps all three games they could conceivably end up the #1 seed if Central Arkansas and Abilene Christian should falter. Even the 3 seed wouldn't be bad. Way to go Ladies!!! See you in Katy!

Ladies win their 3rd straight with a 52 point blow out win over HBU 74-22. With the results from the rest of today's games if the ladies win out which they should then they will be the 2nd seed in the tourney. Edited by geezer
