Lamar Women BB Invited to WBI

The Lamar Women's basketball team has accepted a bid to the WBI post-season tournament. First game is Thursday night (7pm) at Rice.

I'm guessing it was a conference limitation on eligibility for the conference tourney, but it seems a little odd that Abilene Christian got invited to the WNIT and couldn't even play in the conference tourney. Just seems like your either eligible for post season play or your not. Glad the ladies are playing in a post season event anyway. Go Ladies and I hope some LU fans follow them over to Rice.

According to the posted WBI bracket, the winner of the Lamar/ Rice game advances to play the winner of the SFA/ UTRGV game. Don't know if Lamar has a chance of hosting a second round game.
