Cards win the last two games of the series with Oklahoma State with a 6-2 victory Sunday afternoon. While OSU you is 8th place in the Big 12, they are still a major conference team so perhaps there is still some hope for the Cards to finish the season strong. Cards are currently in a three way tie for 7th but lost two of three to both UNO and Nicholls so essentially they are out of the tourney unless they can win more games in the last two series than at least one of the others.

Holy crap on a cracker, Batman! The Cards won their weekend series against the Oklahoma State Cowboys in THEIR stadium, for goodness sakes! They lost the opener on Friday 6-5 but they came back with wins on Saturday (7-6) and Sunday (6-2) to head into a full week of rest and preparation for a big SLC matchup this coming weekend against SFA on a positive note. It sure seemed like more than a 3 game losing streak heading into Saturday’s game but that was all a part of a lot of losing, of games and series, in the last 6 weeks. LU needed to find some Mo from somewhere as they head into the first of a critical final two series of games in the regular season. They go that Mo in the most unlikely spot, against a Power 5 team on their home field. How do you lose to Nicholls and beat OK State? Those questions need to be answered so they can take the positives they got in Stillwater and apply them at home against SFA. I’m not calling for a sweep, I’m not greedy, I just would like to see LU win 2 of 3. They are at home. They could do this, couldn’t they? Sure they could, if the same team that showed up in Stillwater comes back to Beaumont. Pitching, defense and timely hitting, that’s how they beat OK State and there’s not one reason that couldn’t happen this weekend in Beaumont. Damn, there is a pulse; there is life in this Cardinals team. Let’s go Cards!!!
