geezer
After hoping for a decent game and possibly a SLC member in the finals, I was extremely disappointed by the Sam Houston game against North Dakota State. Unfortunately the way this game went plus the one and out by Nicholls and UCA says a lot about the lack of respect for the SLC in football. Similarly in SLC basketball the whole conference has to step up and improve their programs and scheduling. If the SLC ever wants to get out of the bottom tier of the rankings every program must improve and start winning games against peer conferences. It won't be easy but it is what has to happen and it is one of the things the next AD will have to work on. A few of the SLC members have pretty good facilities and should be able to draw peer programs from other conferences to play home and away series. In basketball the home and away non-conference schedules need to improve. I know for football almost all schools schedule for money purposes as opposed to the expense that would probably come with scheduling home and away with other FCS conferences, but winning against other FCS programs by most of the conference schools is what is needed to improve the rankings and hopefully get more teams past the first round of the playoffs. We hired a coach who came in and basically was very similar to who we fired, only worse
