puddin tane Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 Weather 1 Fans 0 naw, gonna be beautiful! sela 35 LU 18 ( 3 missed xpt) Quote
coachacola Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 Looking at stats for both teams (including non-conference games): LU #1 in rush offense, SELA #6 in rush defense. LU #11 in pass offense, SELA #7 in pass defense. SELA #11 in rush offense, LU #2 in rush defense. SELA #2 in pass offense, LU #10 in pass offense. Looks like LU's going to run the ball all day and SELA's going to pass the ball all day. The stats are skewed because SELA played UL-Monroe to open the season and LU played Kentucky Christian. Massey has SELA 14 point favorites at 38-24. With LU's bad pass offense it's hard to argue against that unless Colbert finds a way to pass the ball all of a sudden. Quote
geezer Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 Well LU misses their first extra point. end of first quarter SLU 7 LU 6 Quote
geezer Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Corbert does it again illeagal forward pass on a long lateral. At least this one didn[t result in a turnover. Quote
geezer Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 LU up 17-10 at the half. Don't want to take anything away from the LU effort but SLU's mistakes has given Lamar more opportuinties than the will get in most games. Quote
coachacola Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 End of 3, tied 17 all. I.C. Murrell tweeted this: Morse and Hoy are warming up. This is something. Quote
coachacola Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 SLU up 20-17. Colbert intercepted so SLU is looking to score again. Quote
coachacola Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 SLU up 27-17. Colbert still in at QB with LU driving in SLU territory. Quote
coachacola Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 LU scores with 5:44 left in game. 27-24 SLU. Quote
coachacola Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 SLU up by 6 with 35 seconds left in game. Time for a miracle win. Quote
coachacola Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 And SLU kicks an onside kick and that’s the game. Quote
geezer Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 No miracle and a 1 win season is a possibility. Schultz may believe Colbert to be the best overall quarterback from a talent standpoint as a dual threat but his decision making just leads to ineffective offense. Let's see somebody else. Defensively you can't have two roughing the quarterback penalties on a single drive. Quote

coachacola Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Looks like with just a little better coaching this team could be 2-0 in conference. But instead they have lost two home games against lower level SLC teams. I guess they always have HBU or IWU to beat. Quote

Frankly, that should be unacceptable. Quote
puddin tane Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 well, since the excitement Shultz brought in has BRI down to about 5 posters...oughta check out kaftans...their world is ending..pretty entertaining... Quote
WildCard Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Speaking of bad coaching. SLU, 4th and goal on the one, kicks a field goal to go up six. If they go for it and fail LU must go 99 yards in 35 seconds. Instead they kick off to LU with a six point lead--they opened a crack in the door and gave us a chance. Then the kickoff hits a up man and bounces back to them. Quote
