September 29, 20187 yr Five minutes into the first quarter and Colbert has missed a wide open receiver and thrown a ball that was tipped by the LU receiver, intercepted by Nicholls and returned for a touchdown. I have DirecTV but live out of state and channel 623 doesn't show up at all. Anyone else able to see the game?

September 29, 20187 yr We look like a JV team playing the varsity today. 159 yds passing! Our sorry offense was somewhat productive in the first half then Nicholls said screw this and stopped the run. Since we can’t throw with Colbert it’s not complicated. Stop our 1970’s running game and we are done. The defense? Idk, just bad
September 30, 20187 yr I thought we looked okay offensively in the first half. I noticed our QB play was decent. QB ran the ball a little bit because I thought it was good reads on option plays. The pic six was just a bad break! He didn’t try and call his own number in the first half. The second half and really 3rd quarter they shut our O down. QB started to panic and run. That didn’t turn out well. On defense, We do not tackle well at all. The defense looked like they were just standing around while Nichols RB shredded our D. We were so busy trying to strip the ball, the RBs ripped off big runs. Our DBs don’t cover to knock the ball down or intercept it, they cover to try and tackle the receiver after the catch. I watched Nichols DBs cover our WRs and they stuck to us like glue. We give the receiver plenty of room to make the catch. I watched a play where our D line held the blockers at the line of scrimmage not trying to pass rush at all. It wasn’t a run, it was a pass so Fourcade had all day to throw. It was a big play! Our secondary is bad. Fourcade and Nichols will not be the best passing attack we see. SHSU will destroy us with their passing game. This game we just got our ass kicked and out coached. We gave up over 600 yards of Nichols offense. This defense is terrible. Our coaching staff needs to be fired. We never look prepared to play. Martinez had 2 nice fields goals and several good kickoffs.
September 30, 20187 yr The coaches will be blamed and they should be, but not necessarily for the schemes. Nicholls schemes weren't much different than Lamar's on offense at least but the players executed. Bottom line Colbert isn't good enough particularly as a passer and decision maker. What I saw of Hoy in this game, he isn't the answer either. Morse in the opinion of the coaches at least isn't a good enough runner so he won't get a shot. This year is lost and in reality so is next year as Schultz won't be fired.
