Mike Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 JJ with a 59 yd TD run. Score now 38-21 Bobcats Quote
Guest CardinalClaw Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Hugh 50+ yard TD run by Johnson, could this be the point where he takes over a QB!!! Quote
coachacola Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Another game which Lamar gave up at least 20 points in the 2nd quarter, but this was worse because they also gave up 2 TDs in the first quarter too. Lamar was about 20 point underdogs and it looks like the final score will be around that, if not a little worse. Maybe it's time to go with Jeremy Johnson. Let's get this team prepared for next year when they start off against some FBS teams. Johnson needs some full games under his belt this year because they won't start next season with lightweights. Mike Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 IMO if Woodard/Whitten wouldve inserted the big backs (Hanna/Harmon) early when LU couldnt stop the Bobcat momentum they'd still be in this game right now. The inability to get anything on the ground early forced 3 & outs and kept the Cardinal's defense on the field. They along with JJ are the diffence in the 2nd half. Quote
Guest bigred360 Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Now, who was that stating Johnson wouldn't have over 10 yard runs as this isn't 3A football? Quote

I agree, not playing those two guy earlier was a big mistake by Woodard. Quote

Mike Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 JJ gets sacked in endzone for a safety. Now 40-21 Bobcats Quote
coachacola Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 It's 40-21 now. The Massey Ratings predicted Lamar losing 41-21!! Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 ;) :) I know you're happy. :) Sorta. Rather see him lead LU to a win. On the safety, Jeremy never had a chance. Bobcat defender was in the backfield before Jeremy could blink. Bevil will still be the starter next week at homecoming. But, I think we will see Jeremy gets some snaps next week. Quote
Guest TaylorAllen15 Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 How much time is left? I'm following this thread for updates. Quote
jdcurran235 Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 this game is over. I felt like we had a chance to come back until the safety. Quote
Mike Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 I'm discouraged with the loss and how the team got rolled early, but I am encouraged with how the team, specifically the defense never quit playing hard. I'm really not into moral victories but this easily could've been another SFA type beatdown if the boys had quit. Tonight's final was Texas State 46 Lamar 21. The Cards actually won the 2nd half 21-11. Franchione with a chicken Sh!t TD at the end of the game. I've never liked that guy. Quote
jdcurran235 Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Do you think we made a good impression on Benson, the way we came back and the LU fan support that was out there. Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Very interesting with Tex st. scoring on last play. Quote
Guest bigred360 Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Yea, I can't stand Fran as he is classless. Example after being hired at ATM he never spoke to the Alabama players to say goodbye and why he was leaving. He didn't even clean out his office as he had others gather his belongings and sent them to College Station. Still, the defense has to get better at tackling. Quote
jdcurran235 Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Fran has done that sort of thing elsewhere he has coached Quote
Mike Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Very interesting with Tex st. scoring on last play. Line was 19.5 and score was 40-21 at that point. I hope Woodard gave him an extra tight handshake after that. Quote
geezer Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 TS was able to increase their scholarship totals this year which automatically gives them some extra depth. Lamar isn't deep enough to handle the injuries we have had particullary on defense, although it sounded like the defense is improving even if the score didn't reflect it. End of day we are still a second year program and either don't have or haven't used the size we need to compete. Quote
