De'Andre Pinckney

Featured Replies

So apparently we have one more scholarship to give.

The offer is out to De'Andre Pinckney from Broward College

PF - 6'8 220 lb

18.3 ppg

9.3 rpg

Shot 59 % from he field & 76 % from the FT line

Currently also has offers from ULM , FIU , New Mexico , and Florida Gulf Coast

He is from Florida... Hope we can get him to Lamar he is exactly what we need !

Sounds like he would be a great pickup. We have had success recruiting players from Florida in the past.

Wonder who isn't returning?

Imagine if we had a reliable big man next year it's the missing piece we desperately need. Someone who covers the paint and changes shots without picking up 3 fouls in 5 minutes like what we currently have.

Very productive for the minutes he played.

So if my math adds up we had a scholarship go out yesterday meaning even with this signing we have one more scholarship to give out or verbal commits is running a little behind the recruiting cycle.

Obviously Tic knows this coming year is our shot at the conference crown and advancing out of the conference tournament. Our biggest need is at least being acknowledged but did we get the help we need ?

Losing a ton after this year.

Hopefully we are still in play for Pinckney !

Walter Prevost was Honorable Mention All Region despite not lofty numbers.

Looked up Pinckney on the Broward College web site and he was listed as a freshman for the 18-19 year so he may just be a commit for next years signing class. Assuming no one else has left LU will have six seniors on this coming years team. Prevost was a freshman last year also, so again it may be commits for the future as opposed to coming in this fall.

Geezer is right looked more into it and Pinckney is a 2020 recruit so with that it seems we have no more scholarships available for next year going to be crucial for us if Walter Prevost can come in and solidify the post along with Barrett ....assuming Sullivan and Foster didn't make tremendous gains this off-season.

Walter Prevost was at Dl South Dakota in 17/18 when he redshirted. He then transferred to Angelina College for 18/19. So he could come to Lamar and be eligible for 3 seasons.

De'Andre Pinckney signed last fall with Lynn University. He must have been released from his LOI.

A latecomer to the game after not playing basketball until high school, Pinckney played all four years of his high school ball at Miami Carol City, earning a varsity starting spot in his final three seasons. He averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds as a senior, was named the district's Co-Defensive Player of the Year and was selected to play in four different all-star games.
