geezer
Despite a height deficit of an average of two to three inches at every posistion Lamar hung tight in the first quarter. End of quarter finds OSU up by one at 19-18.
geezer
2nd quarter sees the height and lack of depth for Lamar allow OSU to move out to a 40-30 halftime lead. Cards have four players not suited up for todays game. Three of the four not playing are Juniors, two of which are returning from last years squad. geezer
End of the 3rd quarter with OSU up 60-39. Despite the score the women have played pretty well. When you have 5'9" for OSU guarding 5'3" for LU it makes it difficult to get open shots. The other area that OSU tightened up in the quarter was rebounding, taking full advantage of their height. geezer
Final score OSU 74 - Lamar 53. Although it's really early in the Franklin era, my first impression is that if she can recruit some taller players with ball handling abilities, she may have a very successful run at LU. Her on the court coaching seems sound.

geezer
OSU had five players that played 6'3" and taller. Therir starting point guard is 5'9". Compare that with LU, two players at 6'2" not necessarily the starters and the starting point guard at 5'3" with the two starting shooting guards at 5'6". Granted the two shooting guards did quite well scoring 26 and 13 points, but the forwards couldn't hardly get a shot off.
Skinny1
I have been impressed with Franklin’s coaching and did not get much of a recruiting chance since the previous coach left well after the season was over. Looks like she will have 3 transfers coming in next year.
