Nov 24 2019 (30 rankings)

The Top SLC teams:

193 LU (2-2 against D1 teams, best win against #178 Utah Valley, Duquesne still undefeated)

195 SHSU (0-3 against good D1 teams)

206 SFA (3-1 against D1 teams, best win against #216 Drexel, lost at Rutgers)

221 Nicholls St (2-4 against D1 teams, best win against #114 Pittsburgh, OT loss to Illinois and 10-point loss to LSU)

New Orleans is the best of the worst at 281.

Note: I think this early in the season a lot of these rankings use last year's records for a large part of their calculations but that decreases as the season progresses.

Massey has Lamar is picked to loose at UAB and Texas Southern. Conference is rated 30th out of 32, guess it will be another 16 seed for the tourney based on current. The conference needs to reduce the number of non-D1 schools that can be scheduled. Have to win more out of conference games. Need to hunt for schools in the fifteen conferences immediately above the SLC to schedule home and home.

Thanks for posting. Lamar opens SLC play against SELU. I assume they are ranked 300 or worse.

SELA shows up at 321 in todays ranking. Two wins against nobody schools and five losses against decent competition. Lamar needs a win Saturday against Rice. Southern University (New Orleans) is not a D1 school so a win against them won't help LU's ranking and the game at TCU will be another very tough unpredictable game. Rice is currently ranked 170th. For comparison UAB is ranked 187. The Cards could have defeated UAB with a better shooting performance so Rice is a chance for a win against a mid-ranked team.

Eight SLC teams in action tonight. SLC teams are currently 1-6, with the one win against a non-D1 school. In the eighth game IW is down by 19 at Seattle U. Granted all of the D1 games are on the road but two of the games are against teams out of the WAC and two others are teams that were in the SLC at one point in the past.

Going into tonights game the SLC has a 38-64 win-loss record. Two games on tap tonight. UCA lost to Wichita St and ACU wins by 9 over SE Missouri St out of the Ohio Valley Conference. Only four of thirteen SLC members have a winning season at this point and there are way too many of the 39 wins that are against non-D1 competition. Edited by geezer

Cards get a good win against Rice. Not sure what they will be ranked when LU goes to TCU, they are currently 54th, but a strong performance would be really nice. Edited by geezer
