With a 4-5 record JSU is not where they expected to be record wise as they were a pre-season pick to make the playoffs. For Lamar if there is any chance at a win Chandler has to play and have a good day passing. (I know, it's hard to have a good day passing in Lamar's offensive scheme) I don't believe either of the other two quarterbacks Lamar has used this year are good enough passers.
