At this point in the season the sad reality is if Lamar starts winning some games and climbs out of Massey's bottom ten it would actually hurt the conference in terms of any hope of getting two NCAA tourney bids. Not that that is a real possibility either way.

Lamar makes it the under eight minute timeout with an eight point lead 25-17. Main negative is turnovers and fouls as McClure, Smith and Carpenter all have two fouls.

I just do not get why the Lamar opponents always shoot a lot more free throws than the Cardinals.

Lamar leading 43-37 at the half. Harrison is not playing anywhere close to what he showed as a freshman. So far tonight he has three turnovers, one assist and four points on 20% shooting. Jefferson isn't any better with two turnovers, one assist, two fouls and four points. Lamar has four players with at least two fouls including Smith who has three. Edited by geezer

Dear Lord can the Cardinals play the second half like they did the first half?

I doubt it, Lamar hasn't played two halves in the same game yet this year.

Four minutes into the second half and so far Lamar is holding on. Up by seven 50-43. May have as many points in the first four minutes of the second half as all of the last games second half.

At the eight-minute mark it looks like the magic may be running out as the Cards have surrendered the lead and the Lamar guards are forcing the offense and taking some bad shots and committing turnovers.

Cards fall by eight as Lamar is forced to foul to extend the game and can't come up with any three-point plays to close the gap. Final score 86-78 in favor of SFA.

Turnovers - Lamar commits 17 turnovers with twelve coming from the four guards. Guards also force the ball for wild shot attempts on drives to the basket hoping to draw fouls. Lamar made its last three-point shot with 9:40 left in the game. On the plus side Carpenter and Reyes combined for ten rebounds and five points. That's not enough but is better than what they have been producing. Seniguar is back and contributed five rebounds and six points. McClure seems to be getting back to where he was before the Christmas break with eleven points and seven rebounds.

Seniguar only played eleven minutes due to getting over COVID. So his stat line is even more impressive.

Our no offensive plays offense leads to out of control guard play trying to drive the ball 1 on 5. Harrison is ALWAYS out of control and is a walking turnover. I expected much better from him this year and he has sucked.
