geezer
Cards up by one at the under twelve media timeout, 13-12.
lamarfan360
I know this is getting old, but the Cardinals are still turning the ball over too often.
geezer
Lamar up 24-23 at the half.
lamarfan360
Poor shooting and turnovers keep the Cardinals from having a large lead at the half.
geezer
Lamar up by nine with eight minutes left in the game, but Lamar is in foul trouble with three players having four fouls. Smith, McClure and Catt each have four.
geezer
One thing I've noticed is that Lamar freshman in particular are lax in getting back on defense. At least twice tonight Reyes is just jogging back down the court when UTRGV blows by taking the ball to the basket.

geezer
I was afraid Lamar might actually pull away and get a reasonably easy win but Lamar comes back with turnovers to fall behind by two with a minute and twenty two seconds left. geezer
Outstanding job by Lamar to get a loss out of the jaws of a potential victory. Lazy passes for turnovers when it counted to drop another game. Four turnovers and five fouls for McClure and four turnovers and three fouls for Adams. Jordan Adams is the absolute worst on a terrible team. Bone headed turnovers and hero ball shot at the end. Just absolutely awful player on an awful team. What could Austin Peay ever have seen in him. Absolutely clueless player. Officially the worst team in Lu history and probably the worst team in the country!! Congrats!! Officially the worst team in Lu history and probably the worst team in the country!! Congrats!! Whew!! I thought we might actually screw up and win. But we went back to our old reliable offense, and hero play by Adams and Roberts. What was supposed to be the strength of thus team: guard play and new coach, has proven to be an epic weakness all season long! Congrats on keeping the garbage play alive!! coachacola
Alvin Brooks went 54-84 as the head coach of Houston in the 90s. There is a reason nobody hired him to be their head coach after that. But of course the all mighty brain trust at LU had to hire him 23 years later because he was a "star* player at LU 30+ years ago. At least he gets to retire with a boatload of money. Winning coaches tend to start out young and win at every level they coach at. Sure they may only stay a few years at one location until they move on to a better job, but they leave the program in a better place than before. LU does not hire those kinds of coaches. The program takes one big hit after another and down the drain it all goes. This is the final result.
geezer
Since the hiring process is so good at Lamar maybe Brandon Chappell will be considered next. He is young and has no head coaching experience at any level but was a decent player for Lamar.
