lamarfan360 Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 (edited) Yuto_yamanouchi from Los Angeles, looks pretty athletic on video. He played for Japans U19 National team. I can not find any stats for him but he is eligible for 22/23. Edited August 10, 2022 by lamarfan360 Quote
geezer Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 I wonder when we will see a roster for this coming year. Assume no new additions can be shown until after school starts but can the Athletic Dept. remove those who are not planning to return? Quote
WildCard Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 Yuto_yamanouchi from Los Angeles, looks pretty athletic on video. He played for Japans U19 National team. I can not find any stats for him but he is eligible for 22/23. He played for Ribet Academy, an independent high school in Los Angeles, which shut down it's basketball program: https://www.dailynews.com/2021/08/10/ribet-academy-shuts-down-boys-basketball-program/ The article is dated last August and says there will be no basketball last winter. It also says they were 13-5 before that decision? I don't know what that means. Another site has several pictures on him playing for the U19 team: https://www.fiba.basketball/world/u19/2021/player/Yuto-Yamanouchi/#iset=e9712b3a-6138-4de8-a36f-2e4e02602200&iid=ff93a6f6-d99c-4676-b87c-1dcffb7005d7 Quote

Muoka was a project. Quote

coachacola Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 At this point the whole basketball team is a project. Quote
SportsGuy Posted August 13, 2022 Posted August 13, 2022 I'd be surprised if any August signee was a big contributor. Nzeakor and Muoka were late additions to recruiting classes and they were the best bigs we have had in a long time Quote

geezer Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 Hope the accolades that Brooks had for him are not just coach hype. Quote
geezer Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 I'm confused is the player announced today, James Spencer, for this year or next. The report sounds like he is coming in this year, but school has already started, and you would have expected both of these guys to have been in Bmt for at least part of the summer. Quote
lamarfan360 Posted September 1, 2022 Author Posted September 1, 2022 They are both enrolled at Lamar and eligible for this year. Quote
geezer Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 Thanks, I guess the Roster will catchup in a few weeks. Quote
lamarfan360 Posted September 1, 2022 Author Posted September 1, 2022 Thanks, I guess the Roster will catchup in a few weeks. No problem. A little note about Spencer. He played defensive end on his HS team that went deep in the playoffs. Point being I think James will improve drastically playing basketball year around Quote
