geezer Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Cards run out the clock getting their second win and starting their SLC record to 1-0 for the year. Final score Lamar 21 - HCU 19. Quote

bigredfan2 Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 A nail biter at the end but it's a great start in conference play. Quote
lamarfan360 Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Big win after HCU beat SLU last week! Quote
TexGator Posted October 2, 2023 Author Posted October 2, 2023 Lamar has another critical fumble turning the ball over to HCU. HCU takes advantage with a touchdown to draw within two points. HCU tries a two point conversion, but the call on the field is a failed attempt. Replay taking another look. I felt like his forward progress got stopped before the fumble (was right in front of me). But the officiating was mediocre both ways... like on the 4th & 1 from the 42 where he got the line to gain by a few inches (maybe a whole football), but then they spotted it back where he was tackled. In other words, I thought the 1st Down call was right... but then they spotted it poorly (where the ball was spotted behind line to gain). Quote
TexGator Posted October 2, 2023 Author Posted October 2, 2023 The most important thing is that the Cards looked like the better team on the field and won. Now, on to Northwestern State. Quote
coachacola Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 Massey has Idaho at #5 and South Dakota #9. Each has only 1 loss, both FBS schools. Although LU has lost 3 games, none were to crappy teams. I like LU's odds in the SLC. Quote
Skinny1 Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 This weeks game versus NWSt could the season defining game. With the Cards improving every week, a win will keep the momentum going in the right direction. Quote
