Lamar Men take on the UTSA Roadrunners tonight at the Montagne Center. UTSA come into the game with a 1-1 record, beating Western Illinois by 10 points, the losing to a Big Ten team by about 20.

Seems to depend on who is in the game. The three returning guards are not consistently keeping their shooters from getting set at the three point line. When Jackson and Knight are in it seems better. So far Knight is the difference maker as he has three three-pointers. Lamar would be further out front if they were hitting their free throws like they did in the first two games.

Lamar down by three at the second media timeout of the 2nd half 61-58. Not hitting enough shots and still below the season average from the free throw line.

We will have to see if Lamar can avoid the injury bug that has killed them the last two years, but the ability to rotate players more seems to be making a difference, even though shooting percentage isn't what you would hope for tonight. Lamar back up by one at the under 8 minute time out.

At the last media timeout Lamar is up by one point 76-75 but UTSA will be at the free throw line coming out of the timeout with a chance to take back the lead.

Brooks has been able to play some offense defense possessions down the stretch, taking Pryor out on defense as he is in foul trouble but getting him back in for the offensive possesion.

LU is having a $5 ticket promotion for this game. Hope they have a good turnout.

Let us be perfectly honest, we have been so bad for so long they could offer free tickets, free beer, free food, and free travel to and from arena and we would still only draw 1,500. It is going to take a lot of wins to get people to go.

Finally found the box score on the Lamar website. Cards had six players in double figures tonight with Terry Anderson leading the way with 20. I think for the second time this year Lamar shot a higher percentage from beyond the arc than they did overall. Free throw percentage was a little off tonight as Lamar only shot 61% in the first half but came back to shoot 88% in the second half and especially down the stretch when UTSA was fouling to try to extend the game. Lamar won the battle of the boards outrebounding UTSA by 12. Hamilton and Anderson both had double doubles.
