LMU 18 - Lamar 10 Cards opened the game not able to make a basket shooting 1-11 from the field over the first seven minutes roughly and falling behind before starting to crawl back. LMU has a significant size advantage overall, and are leading the rebounding by seven. Lamar has been shooting poorly from the field and it shows with the rebounds. Denley hits a long three to take the lead with .4 left on the clock and play good defense to hang on for a 61-58 win. Big difference was Lamar forcing turnovers in the second half. Lamar forces fifteen more turnovers than they commit to make up for getting outrebounded by ten and out shot from the field by 10%. The Lamar players that should be forcing these guys off the three point line are trying to help double inside and are too slow to recover outside and no it doesn't appear Brooks wants to give up on the help defense.
