geezer Posted January 30, 2024 Posted January 30, 2024 Cards have the early lead, 14-11 at the first media timeout. Quote
geezer Posted January 30, 2024 Author Posted January 30, 2024 After Lamar jumped out to the early lead, UNO has chipped away and at the second media timeout are now up by three, 19-16. As Lamar made substitutions, the shooting has fallen off. Quote
geezer Posted January 30, 2024 Author Posted January 30, 2024 Lamar got back to the majority of the starters and at the under eight-minute timeout have a five point lead and the ball, 29-24. Quote
geezer Posted January 30, 2024 Author Posted January 30, 2024 (edited) Lamar stretches the lead to ten-points over the last eight minutes of the half. Lamar up 46-36. Lamar shooting better than UNO from the field and the free throw line both. The only real negative of the half is personal fouls as the Cards have five players with two fouls, but most of those are near the basket as the UNO big man has done a good job of using his strength to take advantage of the Lamar bigs. Lamar did a good job of shutting down UNO's leading scorer holding him to two points in the first half. Cards will have to continue the effort in the second half. Skinny1 Posted January 30, 2024 Posted January 30, 2024 Johnson of UNO was the NCAA leading 3 point shooter and is leading the SLC with a 23 points per game average. In the first half he has 2 points and zero field goals. Pryor is on him like white on rice! Quote
Skinny1 Posted January 30, 2024 Posted January 30, 2024 UNO is averaging taking over 30 3pt shots per game. The attempted 4 in the 1st half. Quote
geezer Posted January 30, 2024 Author Posted January 30, 2024 Over the first four minutes of the second half UNO has trimmed the lead to seven points, but the bigger issue for the Cards is Anderson picked up two quick fouls to go the bench with four on the night. Quote
geezer Posted January 30, 2024 Author Posted January 30, 2024 With the aide of a couple of different Technical Fouls on UNO Lamar is up by sixteen, 68-52 with 12:30 left in the game. A lot of personal fouls on both teams 21 and 20 plus the two Techs on UNO Quote
geezer Posted January 30, 2024 Author Posted January 30, 2024 7:55 left in the game, with Lamar up by twenty-one points, but UNO going to the free throw line again. Lamar has Anderson and Hamilton on the bench with four fouls as well as Knight and Catt with three each. Quote
geezer Posted January 30, 2024 Author Posted January 30, 2024 Final media timeout with 3:18 left finds Lamar up by 24, 91-67. Quote
geezer Posted January 30, 2024 Author Posted January 30, 2024 (edited) Final score Lamar 98 - UNO 73. Solid game for Lamar except for fouls. Nice to see Erroll White have a strong game with sixteen points, nine rebounds and although not in the live stats at least two blocks I believe as well as several shot disruptions. puddin tane Posted January 30, 2024 Posted January 30, 2024 Good game by the Cards. White, heckuva game. Catt was blocking shots all over. Since none of the bigs do squat offensively, Id throw catt out there alot for his D. Let him swat shite till hes tired or fouls out. Quote
Skinny1 Posted January 30, 2024 Posted January 30, 2024 Nice win for the Cards. Pryor and White had great games for Lamar. The bench has been a real strength so far in conference, hope we keep getting better. And this team has only 1 senior (Pryor). UNO had some athletic players, but the lack of a true point guard is really hurting them. Quote
