NorthoftheBorder
I don’t want to jinx the Cards by predicting a win, so I won’t. I do want them to win no matter the margin.
geezer
Poor start for Lamar, win the toss, take the ball, three and out on three passes. Penalty on the punt. SFA first possession five plays, 74 yards and a touchdown.

geezer
Halftime, the good news is that the defense appears to have settled in and are containing SFA. Bad news is that the offense continues it inconsistent play from possession to possession.

geezer
But SFA comes right back with a long drive for another touchdown.

geezer
Lamar comes back with some SFA penalty help for a Longino touchdown to bring it back to a seven-point game with nine minutes left.

geezer
Good competitive game, but a game that Lamar missed the opportunity to show they belonged. Question, what is Lamar missing? Offensive scheme / play calling, defensive scheme (didn't appear ready to start either half), execution, talent level. My opinion it may be a little of all, but I do wander about the quarterback talent. Is Lamar in a similar place that it was in 2012 when their best quarterback was the third stringer Berry on the bench? I have no idea but either Coleman wasn't healthy enough to do everything he needed to today or Lamar coaches aren't sure of the quarterback situation either. coachacola
It appears this lose was a momentum killer. They'll be lucky to go 6-6.
puddin tane
Theres just some stupid things…. 20 handoffs, only 11 for griffin, delay of game on kickoff, a different kick returner for every kickoff, subbing in and out so damn much. And fricking 15 yd penalties. As for coleman, he played a pretty good game. Had terrible pass on an overthrow to the MUCH UNDER UTILIZED BOWDEN , but hell..5 or 6 drops? One drop in the endzone? The int was on the wr with alligator arms..fricking zip effort. And a oline that cant pass block for shit? With an “oline guy” as head coach… you drop passes, you ride the pine. You keep gettin penalties, you ride the pine. Rossomundo did say sfa came out in a defense they hadnt used all year and screwed em up for a while. Thats being prepared. Took away our multiple tight end play…thank God. i think we were out coached by carthel, sfa was fired up, we were flat.

Interesting take on the OL. Agree on the drops though killing momentum especially when they are wide open. A ton of drops vs commerce as well
