geezer Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Another week of conference only contests. Unless Lamar would upset UIW this week the conference race is virtually over as UIW would be at 5-0 with games against SFA and Commerce left and little chance they would lose both of those. SLU takes on NWST which should be a win. Nicholls plays HCU and Commerce plays SFA. Quote
geezer Posted November 10, 2024 Author Posted November 10, 2024 As the day ends UIW is in the driver's seat for the championship sitting at 5-0 with games left at SFA and Commerce. They should be favored in both of those games but as long as they win one of the two, they will get the berth to the playoffs. SLU buried NWST and has one conference game left guaranteeing themselves of second place. SFA lost to Commerce so the next six teams all have three conference losses. HCU defeated Nicholls. With today's results both of Lamar's remaining games have significance as if they win both Lamar can still finish third. Quote
coachacola Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 Would a 8-4 LU team with a win over SLU have gotten them into the playoffs? My guess is probably not. Quote

geezer Posted November 25, 2024 Author Posted November 25, 2024 I was looking at the FCS bracket and I don't think the Southland gets the respect it deserves there are three representatives from the United Athletic Conference two with 8-4 records and one with a 9-3 record. Quote
NorthoftheBorder Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 SFA just beat Abilene Christian Saturday, who made the playoffs for this year. Quote
