Another note - Southern Miss is really tough at home. Undefeated this season, 11-3 @ home last year. Undefeated the season before.

They have some higher profile transfers who haven’t put it together just yet… hope LU can pull off another W!

Through the first eight minutes of play Lamar is up 16-11.  Lamar has more turnovers than you would like to see, but they have also forced five fouls on Southern Miss.

Southern Miss went on a run with about seven minutes left in the half to take a five point lead but then Lamar returned the favor closing out the half on a run to retake the lead by five at the half.  Lamar 36 - SM 31.

LU up by 8 with about 7 minutes left in the game.

Lamar hangs on to win by four points 66-62.

Massive win, this is the type of game we would have lost last year. Marmalejos pokes the ball away and Holifield slams it home to clinch the win! Came through despite some home cookin’ calls that kept USM in the game, they were a tough team and this team has only lost 3 home games in the last 2+ years. 
 

USM will be a force in the Sun Belt. Lamar continues to come on strong.
