Hope our starting catcher vs Rice is doing ok and everything is…. as it’s supposed to be. He took a nasty hopper while warning up between innings and was face down in the dirt for about as long as I’ve ever seen for that particular injury and had to leave the game. Tear em up this weekend Cards!

Reed averaged 1.6 points and 1.3 rebounds, shooting 37% at Iona last year.

Should have had 6-8 pts more in the first half. He’s going to take a lot of pressure off Holyfield this season. IMO he still looks like he’s a little timid and figuring things out. If he finds that gear he doesn’t know he has… watch out.

The missed 1 and 1’s at the end made it closer than necessary, but I’ll take a road win over a solid team anytime. What’s impressed me is how it’s been someone different stepping up every game.

I watched a half of NW State early in the season. To say they are down is a bit of an understatement. New staff and I think the announcer said 40+ new players. They looked as bad or worse than we’ve looked since bringing football back. I’m sure they’ve gelled some since then but what I saw was rough.

It seems to me the portal has turned the SLC in to the equivalent of a 4 year JUCO. Sure the big boys lose top players too, but with us it’s a given. I can’t fault the young man for taking what I’m sure was a lucrative offer. Thanks for the quality year you gave us and good luck.

Frustrating game. No adjustments to the aggressive man D they played. Don’t understand taking Marmolejos off the point. Offense was totally out of sync the last 10 minutes of the game. Should’ve been in the Win column. We looked like a different team than the one I’ve seen the last couple of weeks.

I can close my eyes and see Sewell’s jump shot. There was something unique about. When he caught the ball in rhythm you could just go ahead and mark it in the book.

Cards looked and played like a confident team. They showed it before half by not getting rattled when falling behind. Great win LU. When’s the last time LU had a 4 game road win streak?

As bad as I’ve seen them. With that said they came back to beat SELa and lost to Nicholls by 1 in recent games. That would mean trouble for Lamar… but not the Lamar of the last 3 games. Keep getting better Cards

I do believe the Cards are turning the corner. No way we win these 3 on the road last year. Not only winning but dishing out beat downs. Wasn’t able to watch today but I’ve been impressed with the way Marmalejos is breaking down defenses. And just like that Brooks has learned how to coach 😉
