Lamar vs Unt

Featured Replies

Time to kick off the 2025 season. Lamar getting paid 350k to play the mean green. I expect a competitive game and hopefully we can keep it close like the Texas st game was last year. I got Lamar  20 and Unt 31.

Couldn't find a lot about UNT Football.  Looks like their picked in the middle of the American Conference.  Appear to have a few recognized players but none especially noteworthy.  Playing an FBS program almost always means Lamar is an underdog, the question is how far under.  ESPN doesn't show a point spread.  I expect Lamar to play a good game hopefully with less self-inflicted mistakes than the early games last year and I hope Lamar can come out with no serious injuries.

It's game time and the Cards open on defense.

Lamar is unable to put pressure on the UNT quarterback and UNT moves the ball down the field with several good passes for a touchdown on the opening drive.  UNT tried going for two on the extra point but failed.  Lamar moves the ball a little on it's first possession but after getting a first down are forced to punt.  A poor punt puts UNT in good starting field position and again UNT is able to move the ball down the field aided by a Lamar personal foul for a second touchdown with 5:46 left in the first quarter.

16 total yards at the end of The 1st Qtr…yuk

Second quarter is worse than the first, Lamar winds up with 45 total yards at the half, but offense is totally inconsistent.  Coleman has a decent completion percentage, but not for any meaningful yardage at 60% and has thrown an interception and had a strip sack fumble that was recovered for a UNT touchdown.  Defense has done a reasonable job of stopping the run but have put nearly zero pressure on the UNT quarterback who has 257 yards passing.  Lamar also has nine penalties for 79 yards.  Hope the second half is an improvement, but I am afraid if it is, it will because UNT is playing backups.

Total embarrassment

Rossomundo pulling a Woodard.  Playing damn near everyone that suited up.  Whatever we got for this money game, we oughta give it back.

Third quarter Lamar has two three and out offensive series and gives up another touchdown in the first ten minutes of the quarter.  Time to make some changes.

He hasn't tried a different quarterback.

Good thing we got a new OC!

End of the third quarter finds Lamar down 51-0.  Lamar finally forced UNT to punt with a couple of minutes left in the third quarter.  Yes, they are on their backup qb.
