What an unimpressive crowd…Beaumont has never been able to get people to games (Golden Gators, LU football, championship hockey). We have a top 20 team in the nation and because it’s not UT, people don’t care.

Also, can someone tell the ESPN broadcasters that it’s McCown, not McCowan? Didn’t think it would last 2 games, but here we are.

Looking for a good 2nd half!

Agree, but its all of SETex.  Too many still wearing their letter jackets and reliving high school glory days.   And, although we aint packing them in at night, not a fan of day games.

This may have been the dullest game since we brought back football.  Stadium was dead, sidelines were dead.

LU is 4-0 against FCS teams so far but those 4 teams had a combined 5 wins.  They could go 7-1 then lose the last 3 or 4 games.  I think UTRGV might give them a run for their money.  They need to start dominating more games before I start feeling good about this team.  Looks like SFA and SLU are the teams to beat.

I agree, SFA and SE La look to be dominat in there wins, while we look less dominant. But we may find out (I think enough evidence is already there) that UIW really isn’t that good this year, and we can’t read a big SFA win over them as SFA being the team to beat. We just beat Nichols who has a 2 score victory over UIW. I know comparing score is by no means a very good way to make judgments, but you can’t totally discount it either.

I think it is still too early to say who looks to be a strong team and who isn't.  For example, UIW has four losses, one to a FBS and three to FCS schools including two in conference who may be upper half in the conference standings by the end of the year.  They have one win and one loss to FCS Big Sky Conference upper half teams.  Southeastern looks strong by scores but in reality, have two losses to FBS schools and four wins over FCS schools that may all be in the bottom half of their respective conference standings come the end of the year.  SFA is also questionable, although they did appear to get a good win over UIW.  SFA lost to Abilene Christian who UIW defeated handily. Lamar still has a lot to prove, but with a few breaks could have an excellent record come the end of the year.
