geezer Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Men tip off today at 11 AM. Shouldn't be much more than a scrimmage, but you never know. Will be nice to watch how this team develops and where their strengths might be. Quote
geezer Posted November 3 Author Posted November 3 Couldn't catch the beginning of the game but made it at about the thirteen minute mark. Game going about as expected. At the half Lamar is up 46-26. All of the guards appear more than willing to take a shot. The big guys are playing pretty good defense, but offense is still developing. The redshirt freshman Gambrell is the leading scorer with 16 points followed by Holifield with 15 and three others have scored. Quote
geezer Posted November 3 Author Posted November 3 15:30 left in the game and Lamar has held A&M SA scoreless while scoring 12 so far. 58-12. BB Knight is he one player I haven't seen that I expected to. Quote
geezer Posted November 3 Author Posted November 3 Four minutes left and Lamar up 87-43. Announcers said Knight wasn't dressed out today. Quote
coachacola Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Knight is supposed to be a big part of their offense this season. I wonder if he isn't 100% recovered from his previous injury. Quote
SportsGuy Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Gambrell is going to make a lot of money in the portal if he plays this way all year! Quote

geezer Posted November 4 Author Posted November 4 Lamar takes on TCU next Monday. Interestingly enough, New Orleans upset them this evening so next week may give an early sense of the strength of the conference. Quote
TBonesLU Posted November 4 Posted November 4 ESPN said 7,531 in attendance. Can anyone confirm? I know BISD had a day, but that'd be around the same crowd as the Texas Tech win in '08. Quote

coachacola Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Looking at these photos that's probably correct attendance. Quote
