Lamar Basketball Nov. 10th Men and Women

Featured Replies

Both the men and women play Big 12 opponents this evening.  Women play at Kansas St with a 6:30 tip off and the men are at TCU for a 7:00 PM contest.  Both are underdogs going into the contests.  KSU was a top twenty women's squad last year so this should be a big challenge for the ladies.  TCU was down last year and are 1-1 so far with a loss to fellow SLC member New Orleans.

Lamar offense goes stagnant allowing TCU to move out to a 64-58 lead and the ball with 6:32 left in the game.  Lamar's big men are in foul trouble with Ezewiro out with five fouls and East on the bench with four.

Men fall 78-65 at TCU.  Inexperience and lack of production from the inside players allowed TCU to put a lot of defensive pressure on the Lamar guards.  Rob Lee led the Cards with 26 points but most of those were in the first half.  Barrs was the only other Cardinal in double figures with 14 points.  A combination of rebounds and free throws was the biggest difference in the game in my opinion.

In the ladies game Hill took a hard fall towards the end of the first quarter and never returned.  That put Lamar at a disadvantage in the post area that K-State was able to exploit.  Lamar's freshman Foreman scored 19 to lead the Cards in scoring.
