lu cards Posted November 13 Posted November 13 What’s everyone’s thoughts on this game ? Our defense and special teams should keep us in the game. I would love to see the offense open things up. Saturday can’t get here fast enough ! Quote
NorthoftheBorder Posted November 13 Posted November 13 We will need the same level, or maybe even higher, play from our defense that we had in the SELA game. And we are definitely going to need more offensive production than we had in the SELA game. Coleman is likely starting, I hope he has the best game of his career to date against SFA. A win puts us in the drivers seat for several things: Conference Championship, 10 win season, Seeding in the FCS playoffs and a first round home game. Not sure what what else the team needs for motivation, but they have two tough games left to get there. SFA will be the biggest test of the season other than NT, and the Cowpokes from Lake Chuck would love nothing more than to play spoiler and ruin all of the above mentioned potential accomplishments. geezer Posted November 13 Posted November 13 It looks like UIW played SFA about even other than two turnovers that SFA capitalized on. Quote
NorthoftheBorder Posted Friday at 04:14 AM Posted Friday at 04:14 AM I hate slow days, Especially when we have the most important game for the football program in who knows when in less than 3 days. Quote

puddin tane Posted Saturday at 04:44 AM Posted Saturday at 04:44 AM Gotta stop their short passing game. Ate us up last year. Quote
NorthoftheBorder Posted Saturday at 11:53 AM Posted Saturday at 11:53 AM It’s game day! Go Big Red! Quote
NorthoftheBorder Posted Saturday at 03:43 PM Posted Saturday at 03:43 PM I have to say, looking at the team statistics and comparing scores against common opponents, it will be an upset for LU to win today. But I think this team has resilience and a will to win. Let’s go Cardiac Cards!! Quote
geezer Posted Saturday at 09:19 PM Posted Saturday at 09:19 PM SLU up 3-0 over UIW at the half. Quote
lu cards Posted Saturday at 10:51 PM Author Posted Saturday at 10:51 PM Touchdown good guys ! 10-7 sfa Quote
geezer Posted Saturday at 11:26 PM Posted Saturday at 11:26 PM UIW missed a potential game tying field goal with 11 seconds left to give SLU the win. Quote
geezer Posted Saturday at 11:30 PM Posted Saturday at 11:30 PM Here in the SFA game although behind at the half, if Lamar can come out strong in the second half, then the game is with in Lamar's grasp. Lamar set up SFA's touchdown on a Coleman intercepted pass on the Lamar side of the field and five penalties for 34-yards stopped at least two Lamar drives. Quote
geezer Posted Sunday at 12:16 AM Posted Sunday at 12:16 AM SFA takes the opening possession of the second half to a field goal for a score to push the lead to 16-7. Lamar goes three and out with Coleman taking a big hit. SFA gets a big return on the Lamar punt to the Lamar end of the field and turn the possession into a touchdown run for a 23-7 lead. McCown comes in at qb for the next possession and have another three and out. Lamar is going to need to really step up to get back in this game. Quote
geezer Posted Sunday at 12:37 AM Posted Sunday at 12:37 AM SFA extends the lead to 26-7 with 8:36 left in the game. Lamar has had no offense in the second half. Need three touchdowns to come back. Will require luck and big plays, something Lamar doesn't typically do. Quote
coachacola Posted Sunday at 12:42 AM Posted Sunday at 12:42 AM Seems like the offense is getting worse as the season progresses. Quote
geezer Posted Sunday at 12:45 AM Posted Sunday at 12:45 AM Lamar comes back with a solid drive resulting in a touchdown with 4:14 left and convert the two-point conversion to close the gap to 26-15. Quote
geezer Posted Sunday at 01:03 AM Posted Sunday at 01:03 AM SFA defeats Lamar to claim at least a tie for the conference championship and force Lamar into a probable must win game against McNeese to get a chance for a playoff berth. Quote
