Lamar men travel to UL Monroe for a 6:30 PM tip off tonight.  ULM is currently 1-3 with there one win over a non-D1 opponent and a loss to fellow SLC member HCU.  This is a perfect opportunity for Lamar to get a road win and get rid of the sour taste from the loss at TCU.

Lamar has the early lead at 11-6 with a media time out and the ball going to ULM.  Holifield is three of five from three point range.

7:21 left in the first half and the Cards are up 27-16.  Holifield leads all scorers with fourteen at this point in the game.

At the half Lamar is up 40-27.  Lamar playing solid defense forcing nine turnovers and holding ULM to 36% field goal shooting for the half.  Holifield has sixteen points followed by Pennebaker with eight.  Lamar has five turnovers.

We foul way to much and need to rebound better.

 

Ulm is in the bonus with 12:00 to play. I love tough defense but you can’t foul like we do.

Lamar went on another run to get the lead out to a reasonable distance but then stumbles their way to the last media timeout has the Cards only up by five points.  69-64

Lamar making mistakes committing fouls to stop the clock and give up free throws to ULM.  Got to stop the fouls.

1:44 left and Lamar commits another foul up by eight.

Cards pull away and win 79-66.

Holifield lead Lamar with 23-points followed by East with fifteen.  Biggest negative is nineteen fouls which if ULM would have shot better from the line could have made this a different game.
