lu cards Posted November 20 Posted November 20 Win and you’re in ! Not much else to say about this one. Hopefully setx shows up to support the cards this week. Quote
geezer Posted November 20 Posted November 20 Might be a really difficult game. On paper McNeese looks like they should be easy but if you look at the schedule they played after the mid-year losses to SFA and SLU they appear to be playing better including a two-score loss last week to RGV. Lamar struggled more than they should have with RGV and the rivalry with McNeese adds more motivation for the Cowboys. Hopefully Lamar comes out ready to play and puts them away quickly. Quote
NorthoftheBorder Posted November 20 Posted November 20 This game will let us know if this team has championship mettle. Hoping they show up big and win the game with a little cushion. Quote
geezer Posted November 21 Posted November 21 Well the SLC standings are final. Both SFA & SLU won tonight to solidify the final football standings. Lamar will be the third-place team win or lose. Quote
NorthoftheBorder Posted November 21 Posted November 21 We damn sure laid an egg in San Antonio. I hate to admit it, but SFA is the best team in the SLC and I believe they would have beat SELA at home or away. The cards need to step it up an rise to the next level. Take out McNeese and then go on the road, maybe Abilene and ACU, and win a playoff game. Dear Pete, Play McCown! Thanks NOTB Quote

geezer Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Is it that it's not right or that it's not large enough because Rosso usually uses more than three running backs and receivers. I don't pay enough attention to the defense as to how many deep he uses. Quote
geezer Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Does Coleman not being listed indicate his injury is bad enough to make him unavailable for tomorrow? Quote

POLKCHOP Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Hello everyone, been reading the mail for years so now I'm getting my feet wet. To address R. Colman's injury, sorry to say he's done at LU (broken Collarbone) It started at South Dakota when he got hurt in that game. He reinjured it with SFA. Quote

I think he gutted it out all year, dont think he was ever pain free Quote

puddin tane Posted November 22 Posted November 22 i think bowden has been listed as starter most season. Rossomando starts bowden, I’ll email ya a dollar. The kid has battled some injuries, but is heavily underutilized! Hell, he was preseaon all conference kick returner after kicking ass his first year. Dont think hes returned a kick since. The kid opens up the boring ass offense and is a frickin winner. Anyone remember the wheel route TD? Dont think weve done it again in 2 years. Quote

When he went in for McCown when he got hurt when Coleman ran the ball he didn't slide no he hit the defense head on. 1 Quote
lu cards Posted November 22 Author Posted November 22 Hats off to Coleman for his career at Lamar. He helped take us from a doormat to respectability. This whole senior group has hung in and got us to the doorstep of the playoffs. Would be nice for them to go out winners at home. 1 Quote

geezer Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Time for everyone to take it to the next level. A lot of history can be made tomorrow. Chance to win nine games for the first time as a four-year school, first time since the 60's to defeat McNeese three years in a row. Playoff spot. Go BIG RED Quote

geezer Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Good start for Lamar, defense holds McNeese three and out on their opening possession. Cards then go 74 yards in five plays capped by a McCown to Jones touchdown pass for the early 7-0 lead with 10:36 left in the first quarter. Quote
